2015 River Baptism
August 23, 2015
3:00pm at Taylorsville Dam
Each year the congregations of the Sulphur Grove network (Taylorsville, Y, and Brandt) gather on the banks of the Miami River at the Taylorsville Metropark to celebrate the sacrament of baptism. Baptism is a celebration of God’s gift of grace and salvation through Jesus Christ. In baptism we publicly profess our loyalty and commitment to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.
Persons who have never been baptized may receive baptism through immersion (being completely immersed in the river) or by sprinkling (water from the river is sprinkled over the head). Persons who have already been baptized celebrated and remembered their baptism by participating in the experience as well.
