Grief is a strong and natural emotion to a loss. Loss can be indirect (changing or retiring from a career you loved, selling your home, or moving away from family) or significant (the death of a loved one). No matter the level of grief someone may be experiencing, grief can leave a person feeling overwhelmed, numb, or alone. The Grief Ministry at Sulphur Grove provides a caring and comfortable atmosphere to embrace God’s love and healing along your grief journey.
Group meetings are held every first (from 1:30pm – 3:00pm) and third (from 6:00pm – 7:30pm) Thursday of the month at Sulphur Grove UMC in room 101. Members and non-members are welcome to attend.
One-on-one meetings are conducted by appointment only

Ministry Founder: Anna Carlisle
Anna Carlisle lives’ in the Huber Heights/Tipp City area. In 1961 she and her husband lost their daughter as an infant. In 2002 her husband passed away from heart disease, in 2005 she lost her oldest son to renal cell cancer and in 2014 she lost her youngest son to the flu. During those devastating times she had always felt the Lord holding her hand. Losing her family forced her to draw near to God in a way that has tremendously deepened their relationship. Even in the mist of feeling God by her side, she still encounters emotional times on anniversaries, birthdays and holidays. Going through the stages of grieving several times throughout her life has brought on feelings of being lonely but never alone. It is during these moments when she has felt God’s presence the most. Along her grief journey she has discovered her call to reach out to those that share the same pain and tears. She is a strong believer that God is holding all of us in His arms in mist of all the darkness.
