Grub at the Grove
The word is out that Sulphur Grove’s Grub at the Grove truly is a place of
comfort and compassion, great cooks, and spirit filled people. It offers
the kind of hospitality that brings people together in a friendly and caring
environment.
Grub at the Grove started several years ago with a few people from Sulphur
Grove showing interest in an idea to share in a new ministry in Huber
Heights called Project One Hope. We have been going strong ever since that
time to provide a free meal to hungry, lonely, or disadvantaged people in
our community. Initially, we served between 150 and 180 people at each
monthly dinner. Now we are consistently serving 250 free meals each month.
We are constantly striving to ensure everyone who walks through our doors is
treated with love and kindness, is comfortable, enjoys a delicious meal, and
above all else senses the presence of the Holy Spirit.
We understand that life can be stressful, problems arise, and sometimes it
is overwhelming. These meals are offered to anyone that would like to
attend. Many of our guests bring family members, friends, or just come by
themselves to eat and socialize in an atmosphere that is inviting and
uplifting. Whatever the reason, everyone is welcome!
Numerous opportunities are available to participate in this ministry. It
requires over 40 people to fulfill all of the tasks related to Grub at the
Grove. Volunteers are always welcome and what better way to be in Christian
fellowship than by letting people know we are here for them and sharing
God’s love with them.
