WHAT TO EXPECT

At Sulphur Grove we strive to meet the needs of all visitors. Whether they be young or old, prefer tradition or contemporary, or somewhere in between. We have three locations to serve you each with a unique experience. We hope that you will find a location that you will be excited about visiting.

Taylorsville

At Sulphur Grove you can expect to be warmly greeted and welcomed.  At the Taylorsville campus (TV) both the 8:45 and 10:30 a.m. services are traditional with hymns accompanied by piano and organ.  Throughout most of the year, both services have a choir with occasional performances of the bell choir and soloists.  Sulphur Grove is known for its excellence in its music ministries.

The lead pastor preaches the majority of Sundays at TV with an occasional rotation with one of the associate pastors or lay speakers in the pulpit.  The sermons are designed to teach biblical principles and help one live into all that Jesus has called them to be in an encouraging and uplifting manner.  The sermons are normally 15-20 minutes in length.  Holy Communion is generally served on the first Sunday of each month and all are invited to the Lord's Table.  You do not have to be a member of Sulphur Grove to receive Communion.
Children are always welcome to remain in the sanctuary.  If you prefer, there is "Kidzone," a Sunday School/Worship service for children.  We always ask our children to come to the front of the church to be recognized and blessed before going to "Kidzone" or back to their seats.  A staffed nursery is also available should you desire to place your children there during worship.  Electronic pagers are used to notify you if you are needed in the nursery.
In the time between the worship services, there is a time of fellowship with cookies, snacks, coffee, and other drinks.
Sulphur Grove is fully handicap accessible and hearing assist units are available.  Just ask for one at the sound booth at the back of the church.  Large print hymnals and bulletins are provided.

The Y Campus

WHAT TO EXPECT A THE Y CAMPUS

The People

Sulphur Grove at the Y is a multi-cultural congregation, representing a wide-range socio-economically who commute from Huber Heights and its surrounding cities. The people you will meet are kind, open-minded, hardworking, family and community oriented. They are regular people trying to collectively negotiate life’s challenges by better understanding what God is saying about how we live together.

 Worship

Our worship service is contemporary with a unique blend of soft-rock and rhythm & blues praise music. Our praise team represents the make-up of our people and this accounts for the vibrant soulful-rock genre we share with one another. Our worship is theme based and always centered in and around the Word of God. We use multi-media technology among other things to express and explain biblical ideas, lessons and directives. The Word is preached every Sunday and is always derived from scripture. Our worship service embraces prayer as a source of power, engages communion to experience God’s grace for everyone, act as space where we celebrate professions of faith, our new members and baptisms. Worship begins at 9:30am and continues until 10:45am on average. We serve refreshments during service.

 Children in Worship

We have KidZone Children’s Church which serves Pre-School through Elementary (1st to 6th) every 1st, 2nd & 4th Sunday. Every 3rd & 5th Sunday is Family Service and we have kid friendly tables during service where children may color, solve puzzles and draw in their parent’s presence. We believe a family that worships together will build stronger bonds in Jesus Christ.
